Foothills Forever
WE DID IT!!!
We have reached our $18.6 milestone to fund the purchase of the 101 acre West Mesa of the San Marcos Foothills!
This exciting first phase was made possible by the generous contributions of cash, pledges, and bridge loans from over 5,500 community members!
The purchase will help create 300 acres of contiguous wildlife habitat, honor Chumash heritage, maintain open space, and provide environmental education opportunities.
We will soon be moving into Phase 2 of the fundraising campaign, which will fill out the rest of the campaign, where we will be able to retire short and long-term loans,
create an endowment, pay any final costs, and help to restore and steward the land into the future.A huge THANK YOU to EVERYONE for all the generous support! Full acknowledgement of all supporters is coming.
Due to the sheer volume of overwhelming community support, it will take a week or two to compile the complete list of over 5,500 supporters.
Stay tuned for more information to come.
Donations are gratefully being accepted for Phase 2 of the overall $20M campaign, to help retire Phase 1.
Short and long-term loans, create an endowment, pay any final costs, and help to restore and steward the land into the future.
Includes $18 million for land purchase and $600,000 for preliminary campaign/escrow closing costs
